어떤 기억은 우리를 한없이 후회하게 합니다. 특히나 기억이 내가 어찌할 수 없었던 것에 기인하거나, 모순적이게도, 정반대로 내가 어떻게 해볼 수 있었던 것이라면 후회는 더욱 짙어지는 것 같아요.
근 몇년간 우리가 속해있던 사회는 두 가지를 모두 크게 느낄 수 있는 곳이었습니다. 비극적인 사회 사건은 내가 직접 무언가를 할 수는 없었다는 비통감과, 앞으로 우리는 이를 어떻게 투영할 것인지 고민하게 했어요. 그렇지만, 시간이 지나면서 이를 점점 잊어가는 스스로를 통해 내가 잊지 않고 기억할 수 있었으나 행하지 못했다는 환멸감에까지 이를 때도 있었습니다.
이러한 기억은 결국, 시간을 되돌아가 사건 자체를 바꾸고 싶다는 마음을 갖게 합니다. 하지만 당연하게도 과거는 바꿀 수 없고 기억 또한 바꿀 수 없습니다.
[만질 수 없는]은 이러한 기억의 특성에 기인하여, 바꿀 수 없다면 잊지 못하게 하는 역할을 해내고자 합니다. 부드럽고 만지고 싶게끔 하는 섬유의 물성에 주목하여 이를 기억을 은유하는 오브제로 채택, 우리가 기억해야 할 사회적 사건을 함축하는 시구(詩句)를 올려 표현하고, 일부분의 접촉을 차단합니다.
‘만지고 싶지만 만질 수 없는’ 부분을 강조하여, 바꾸고 싶지만 바꿀 수 없는 기억 그 자체를 은유하고 기억을 잊지 못하게 하는 장치로 작용하게 합니다.
[만질 수 없는]은 세월호 참사, 구의역 스크린도어 수리기사 사망 사고를 주된 기억 조각으로 인식하며, 전면의 글은 구의역 스크린도어 수리기사 김모군 어머니의 기자회견문을 발췌하였습니다.

Some memories make us regret limitlessly. Especially when those rely on the thing which I could have done an action, or much ironically, which I could have not done a single thing right opposite.
In recent years the society we live in was the place we could experience those two above. Tragic social accidents made me feel a great sadness that I couldn't do a thing, and deeply think about how should we project these from now on, to ourselves. However, by realizing ourselves forgetting these as time goes by, I sometimes felt a deep hatred of self because I fail to do something further and even forget completely.
These memories make me want to travel the time and change the whole accident itself eventually. But of course, the past can not be changed, so the memories can not be changed too.
[Untouchable] focuses on this character of memory, and wants to play the role making people not forget, if it can't change the past itself. It uses the soft and 'keen-to-touch' character of fiber material as a metaphor of memories. And it includes the poetry for the social accidents we should remember, blocking the surface of material at the same time.
Emphasizing the 'want-to-touch-but-can-not-be-touched' part, it functions as a memory-capturing device, representing the memory itself.
[Untouchable] recognizes Ferry Sewol catastrophe and fatal accident of Station Goo-ui, and cites the press conference statements of the mother of the latter accident's victim.
